Terms of Service

Last updated: April 17, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Tappy ("the Service"), operated by Tappy ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Tappy is a document platform that connects to external data sources, executes code, and generates data-driven content. The Service includes document creation and editing, data source connections, code execution in sandboxed environments, AI-powered analysis and narrative generation, and document export functionality.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration and keep it up to date.

4. Acceptable Use

A detailed list of prohibited activities is maintained in our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. In summary, you agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Execute code designed to damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to systems or data
  • Scrape or extract data from websites in violation of those websites' terms of service
  • Attempt to circumvent any security measures or rate limits
  • Use the Service to store or transmit malicious code
  • Resell or redistribute access to the Service without our written permission
  • Use the Service in a manner that could interfere with or disrupt other users' experience
  • Generate or distribute content prohibited by the full Acceptable Use Policy

5. Your Data and Content

Ownership

You retain all rights to the content you create on the Service, including documents, code, queries, and configurations. We do not claim ownership of your content.

License to Us

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, and display your content solely to the extent necessary to provide the Service. This license terminates when you delete your content or close your account.

Data Source Connections

When you connect external data sources, you represent that you have authorization to access that data and to allow Tappy to query it on your behalf. You are responsible for complying with any terms of service, data use agreements, or regulations that apply to your connected data.

6. Code Execution

The Service provides a sandboxed environment for executing Python and SQL code. While we take reasonable measures to isolate code execution, you are solely responsible for the code you write and execute. We are not liable for any consequences arising from code you run on the platform, including unintended data modifications or queries against your connected data sources.

7. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses AI models to generate narratives, analysis, code suggestions, and other content. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated content before relying on it for business decisions, compliance, or distribution.

8. Web Data Extraction

The Service allows you to extract structured data from public webpages. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of this feature complies with applicable laws and the terms of service of the websites you extract data from. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of extracted web data.

9. Frozen Snapshots

Frozen document snapshots are immutable records created at your request. Once frozen, the data within a snapshot cannot be refreshed or altered. Frozen snapshots are retained until you explicitly delete them or close your account. While we take reasonable measures to preserve snapshot integrity, we do not guarantee that frozen snapshots satisfy any specific regulatory or legal archival requirements.

10. Bring Your Own Deployment

BYOD services are scoped around your infrastructure, data boundary, identity, providers, and agent requirements. Any deployment, support, third-party service costs, and environment-specific terms will be agreed with you in writing before work begins.

11. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by Tappy and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written consent.

12. Availability and Modifications

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tappy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

15. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion, with reasonable notice where practicable. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will make your data available for export for 30 days following account closure.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
